Today’s video is a bit of light relief. If you have ever been in a bad docking situation this video is sure to make you feel much better. This male skipper is having awful trouble trying to dock his boat. Making the same mistakes is a bit of an understatement for this haphazard skipper.

Watch as the skipper and his mate relentlessly try to reverse their motorboat into the marina. Even by the fourth attempt he is still making the same errors and is dangerously close to damaging both boats either side of him. Enjoy!

Hi Everyone!

The eWoggle blog is back. It has been a very busy month behind the scenes with everyone involved with the website working hard to make sure our launch to both providers and the public are as successful as possible.

Following the Southampton Boat Show, eWoggle moved into a new office situated in the Design Hub at Coventry University Business Park. Although it took a while to connect to the internet and sort out the phone lines, C4FF have finally successfully settled into their new home (pictured).

We have now started to launch to providers by sending out a batch or emails to UK based companies and Ireland. We have had a fantastic response so far and as you can see from the website charter holidays are starting to become rapidly available.

When speaking to charter companies, one thing we have been able to do is pick up some very positive and sometimes negative feedback, which we have then discussed as a team and made suitable changes where appropriate.

One notable change which has occurred thanks to listening to friendly feedback from our providers is the period/schedule feature for charters has been improved and now providers are given the option to either use the scheduling or not.

This will become a very useful tool for us because it allows eWoggle to get smaller charter companies on board and companies who only offer day charters.

The rest of the system works accordingly. I.e. when no periods are provided, then that particular offer will always come up regardless to the budget and date search criteria (assuming the rest of the criteria are met).

Our technical team have also added a piece of text when a user of providers hover’s the cursor over the search mechanism on the eWoggle website. The text simply explains to users that if they want to search for all charters or holidays, all they have to do is click the search button.

I think we can consider our launch to UK providers a huge success, but that is not the end. Today eWoggle will be getting touch with our sailing and boating friends in the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia in the hope of creating our worldwide sailing and boating community website.

Everything is ship shape!

This video is the second installment of classic youtube and todays video is a real treat. This boat does what most can only dream of. It somehow finds a small gap in an iceburg and sails through it from one side to the other.

When you watch the video you can see the relief of the people on board as they succesfully passed through. Who knows when an iceburg could fall and the sailors deserve credit for risking their lives to produce a stunning video.

Not for the faint hearted. This first youtube posting on the eWoggle blog shows ten of the the biggest and best crashes, accidents and waves at sea.

As stated before, this video is not for the faint hearted and does involve some scenes which may cause some distress.

Hello Everyone

It has been a very busy few weeks for everyone involved with eWoggle with lots of changing being made both on the website and also in the office.

Firstly, we have moved into a new office based in Coventry University Business Park. The main reason behind the move was because our previous office was simply too small and we all needed more space to operate a wide-range of projects including eWoggle.

The new office is based just over the road from our old, humbling beginnings and is much bigger, which provides us with more space enabling us to work in a more relaxed and calm environment. It also enables us to expand the Centre for Factories of the Future which is now located in four locations.

Secondly, there have been many changes made to the eWoggle website which include the introduction of the article archive, which will enable the first five articles to be viewed by anyone, there is also an improved picture gallery for boats and providers are now able to mark a main picture for boat galleries.

Other notable new changes to the website include a revamp in the about us section. The layout has been changed and the information about eWoggle and the people behind eWoggle is clearly spread out down the page.

In other news, eWoggle visited the Southampton Boat Show this week to speak to potential providers and get an idea of their interest in the eWoggle. The overall outcome was very positive, with lots of companies taking an interest in the website.

One key piece of feedback we received when pitching eWoggle to the charter companies was that many of them liked the fact that eWoggle contains news stories and features. They liked how we want the website to appeal to people of all ages and this was very satisfying to hear.

Once we spoke to charter companies face to face, we were able to walk around the boat show and take a look at some of the wonderful yachts in the harbour. We also spotted another potential fifth office when speaking to a man who was selling boat offices, but unfortunately the costs didn’t quite match our budget!!!

We are keen to take all of your ideas onboard!

TEAM GB STARS NEAR MISS

Today’s Classic Youtube Clip involves one of Britain’s most accomplished sailors. Every seems to be going okay for Ross Fisher and his partner during a dinghy race for Team GB until they both get a sudden shock.

Watch carefully as another dingy boat flies past at a devastating speed and only just missed their boat. Unsurprisingly it forces a reaction from the two sailors who are forced into reaction to help recover from the shock.

Hi Everyone!

So as the summer weeks have flown by, the eWoggle team has continued to work hard and make changes to the website ready for the upcoming launch. Although we expected to launch much sooner, we felt it would be better to make sure everything is 100% before diving in at the deep end.

eWoggle is still constantly updating all its social media and one toll we have now started to use especially on Twitter is hashtags. Hashtags are becoming more and more popular on Twitter and allow users to distinguish an update with a particular topic, so that they are targeting/informing a particular set of people.

Recent hashtags eWoggle has used include sailing, boating and holidays. The future plan with hashtags is to get people noticing our company through using specific words, which will then want to make them follow us on Twitter and more importantly visit our website.

eWoggle for personal users is now equipped with a briefcase. It is capable of storing users’ favourite articles, charters and holidays. With a click of a mouse, a user can mark a worth reading article or an interesting charter/holiday.

We want to offer both users and providers a sense of personal belonging to eWoggle and all of the above are available for future reference through a Briefcase in My Area. This way, users are provided a straightforward tool, which will let them personalise their eWoggle experience and store appealing items for future read.

Other notable changes to the website include the introduction of an article archive. At the moment, the archive is available to logged-in users only, but this could be changed in the very near future. ‘Showing archive’ means just the headlines and the first 300 signs of available articles. This way, we allow viewers to browse through our articles, but if they want to read something, they are asked to log in (if hadn’t done it).
